Gonda: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Devipatan Range, Ashok Kumar Shukla, chaired a review and coordination meeting with Gonda Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal and senior police officers to assess law and order, crime control and security arrangements ahead of Sawan and upcoming festivals.
The meeting was held at the Police Lines auditorium and attended by all gazetted officers, circle officers and station in-charges of the district. The officials reviewed preparations to ensure that the upcoming festivals are celebrated peacefully and with communal harmony, as in previous years.

The meeting focused on law and order, crime prevention, security arrangements, traffic management, protection of religious places and prompt resolution of public grievances.
DIG Ashok Kumar Shukla directed all gazetted officers and station heads to maintain effective surveillance over criminals and anti-social elements in their respective areas. He instructed them to conduct regular foot and night patrols and carry out checks of suspicious persons and vehicles.
Special vigilance was ordered in sensitive and highly sensitive areas, with adequate police deployment wherever required. Officers were also directed to coordinate with organisers of religious programmes, processions and religious tableaux to ensure adherence to designated routes and prescribed arrangements.
The DIG further ordered effective monitoring of social media platforms to prevent the spread of rumours and misleading information during the festive period.
The meeting also reviewed pending cases, serious and heinous crimes, wanted and warrant-listed accused persons and the status of ongoing investigations. Officials were instructed to give priority to public hearings and ensure that complainants visiting police stations are treated respectfully and that their grievances are resolved in a timely, impartial and qualitative manner.
Special emphasis was also placed on Mission Shakti initiatives aimed at ensuring the safety of women and girls and creating awareness about their rights.
SP Directs Police to Remain Alert
Gonda SP Vineet Jaiswal directed all officers and station in-charges to prepare effective security plans at the police-station level for the upcoming festivals and ensure their implementation on the ground.
He asked officers to remain mobile in their respective jurisdictions and personally monitor the law and order situation. Even minor information, he said, should be treated seriously and followed by immediate necessary action.

Regular patrolling and checking were ordered at public and sensitive locations, religious places, markets, bus stations, railway stations and other crowded areas.
To ensure smooth traffic movement during the festivals, traffic police and local police were directed to work jointly and implement effective traffic management measures.
The SP also ordered intensified action against wanted and warrant-listed criminals, along with preventive action against active offenders. Special campaigns were directed against the illegal sale and trafficking of liquor, narcotics and illegal firearms.
He called for strengthening beat policing and informer networks to prevent crimes before they occur.
In cases involving women and children, officers were instructed to ensure prompt and sensitive action. Women beat officers were asked to conduct regular visits and maintain direct communication with women and girls in their areas.
Jaiswal stressed that police presence and alertness should remain clearly visible throughout the festive period and that no situation should be allowed to disturb law and order.
All officers were directed to conduct field visits personally, continuously monitor security arrangements and keep police personnel on alert to respond to any emergency.
The meeting concluded with directions to all officers to work with mutual coordination, team spirit and complete vigilance to ensure that the upcoming festivals are conducted peacefully, safely and in an atmosphere of communal harmony.
Additional Superintendent of Police (East) Ajit Kumar Rajak, Additional Superintendent of Police (West) Radheshyam Rai, all Circle Officers, station heads, the Police Lines Reserve Inspector, Traffic In-charge and officers from various police branches attended the meeting.
